Frequently asked questions about cleaning
The questions we get asked most about how the work is done, drying times, prices and safety. Cannot find your answer? Call us or write on WhatsApp, in English.
How long does a sofa or carpet take to dry after cleaning?
Carpets dry 2 to 4 hours after cleaning. Sofas, mattresses and thicker upholstery dry within 24 hours. We use a powerful hot water extraction method that pulls most of the moisture back out while we work. Good ventilation, such as an open window or balcony door, speeds drying up. The exact time depends on the material, its thickness, and the temperature and humidity in the room; use the surface only once it is completely dry.
How much time should I set aside for the cleaning itself?
We clean one carpet covering a whole room in 20 to 30 minutes, and every normally accessible carpeted area in a 3-room flat in roughly 60 minutes. Cleaning a sofa takes 60 to 120 minutes depending on its size, material and how dirty it is. These are indicative working times rather than a guarantee to the minute, and drying continues after we leave.
What is the minimum call-out price?
The minimum call-out price is €40. This is the lower limit of the price, not a surcharge added on top of it: for a small job such as a single armchair or a small rug you pay €40 even when the price list would work out lower. Within Bratislava travel is usually included; in the surrounding towns a distance-based charge may be added. You always know the price before we start.
How does the cleaning work?
We arrive at the agreed time, assess how dirty the item is and pre-treat the stains. We then deep clean the upholstery or carpet by hot water extraction: we apply a cleaning solution and immediately extract it back out together with the dirt. Finally we vacuum and leave everything to dry. Nothing has to be carried out of your flat.
Do you speak English?
Yes. You can call, write on WhatsApp or use the chat on this website in English, and we handle the whole job in English from the first message to the invoice. We work with a lot of expats, relocation tenants and short-stay apartment owners in Bratislava, so an English-speaking enquiry is completely routine for us.
Is the cleaning safe for children, allergy sufferers and pets?
Once the surface is completely dry it can be used normally again. We use professional Kärcher detergent, specifically Kärcher CarpetPro RM 760 Classic, which the manufacturer describes as gentle on materials and free of bleaching agents; we thoroughly extract the cleaning solution together with the dirt it has released. We recommend keeping children and pets away from the area while we work and until it has dried. If anyone in the household is sensitive or allergic to a particular substance, please tell us before we start.
How often should a flat or house be cleaned this way?
We recommend deep cleaning a whole flat or house at least once a year and combining carpets, the sofa and mattresses into a single visit. For heavier soiling, such as pet urine or accidents involving yoghurt, baby food or chocolate, book as soon as possible after it happens. That increases the chance of removing both the stain and the odour before they soak deep into the padding.
Can you come today or at the weekend?
Often yes. Depending on how full the calendar is we can react at short notice, and we do work at weekends. If you need a fast slot, for example a fresh stain before guests arrive, call us and we will find the nearest free time.
Which parts of Bratislava and the surrounding area do you cover?
We work across the whole of Bratislava, in every borough from Petržalka and Ružinov to Devínska Nová Ves, as well as in the surrounding towns such as Senec, Pezinok, Stupava and Malacky. Just tell us your location and we will confirm the slot and any travel charge.
How can I pay and what do you need on site?
You can pay in cash or by bank transfer, and we issue invoices to companies. On site we only need access to electricity and water. We bring the machines and the detergent ourselves.
Which is better, hot water extraction or steam cleaning?
For normally soiled upholstery and carpets we use hot water extraction: we apply a cleaning solution that releases the dirt and then extract both back out of the material. Steam works differently and not every textile tolerates it; the effect depends on temperature, dwell time, the surface and the particular machine. We use professional Kärcher detergent (Kärcher CarpetPro RM 760 Classic) and choose the method according to the care label and the material. We do not describe ordinary extraction cleaning or steam cleaning as guaranteed disinfection.
