Why a mattress is worth cleaning
You spend around a third of your life on a mattress, and over the years sweat, dead skin and dust build up inside it. Ordinary vacuuming reaches the surface; extraction cleaning reaches the layers below it.
Deep cleaning helps draw dust, dirt and part of the trapped allergens out of the material. It is not a treatment for allergies and not a guarantee that every dust mite is gone. For allergy sufferers it makes sense alongside regular washing of the bedding, vacuuming and your doctor's advice.
How the cleaning works and how long it takes
We assess the material and the care label first, pre-treat any stains, then work the cleaning solution in and immediately extract it back out together with the dirt. We never soak the mattress; the machine takes most of the moisture back out while we work.
Mattresses dry within 24 hours, so we recommend booking a slot that leaves the mattress the night, or a day when you are out. Open a window or the balcony door to help the air move, and make the bed up again only once the mattress is completely dry.
Stains, night-time accidents and a realistic result
Tell us what caused the stain or the smell and whether any household products have already been used on it. Fresh soiling is still mostly in the top layer, so the chance of a good result is considerably higher. With old stains, colour changes or liquid soaked deep into the foam we do not promise a complete result without assessing the material. Ordinary extraction cleaning is not verified disinfection.
- Sweat marks, general greying and everyday wear.
- Children's night-time accidents and spilled drinks.
- Odours, which can often be reduced or removed.
- Dust and part of the allergens settled inside the mattress.
Children's mattresses
We clean children's and cot mattresses too. We choose the method according to the material, extract the cleaning solution thoroughly and recommend using the mattress only once it is completely dry.
If you know of an allergy or a sensitivity to a particular substance in the household, please tell us before we start so we can take it into account.
The detergent we use
We clean mattresses with Kärcher CarpetPro RM 760 Classic from the Kärcher CarpetPro range. The manufacturer describes it as an effective deep cleaner for extraction cleaning of textile floor coverings and upholstery, gentle on materials and free of bleaching agents, which improves the hygiene of the cleaned area. Its pH value is 8 in the concentrate.
The manufacturer does not claim removal of dust mites, allergens, bacteria or viruses, nor disinfection or sterilisation, so we do not claim it either. What is true is that we thoroughly extract the cleaning solution together with the dirt it has released.
The price of mattress cleaning
The minimum call-out price is €40. It is the lower limit of the price, not a surcharge on top of it.
A children's mattress starts from €12, a single mattress from €20 and a double mattress from €30. Because of the minimum call-out, a single mattress on its own is charged at €40, so it is worth combining mattresses with a sofa or carpets in one visit.
We give you a fixed price once you send a photo on WhatsApp, and that price holds with no surprises on the day.
